An exhibition through dance and sound

Synesthetic Performance: An Exhibition of Sounds and Movements by Ilona Keserü. A unique performance featuring dancer Julien Klopfenstein and percussion soloist Márton Szives, where the artist’s exhibition intertwining traditions and new paths comes alive through the language of instruments and the body. Moving colors and twisting forms find their voices in the sound of the vibraphone and take shape through dance — existing simultaneously in the space around us, visually before us, and audibly throughout the entire room.
Sounding Lines, Guided Dance Exhibition. The performance begins like any concert: jazz and contemporary musical pieces reflect the eternally swirling colors around us. Then, the instruments lose their familiar forms and begin to tell stories and jokes. Gradually, unnoticed, the pictures start to move, taking shape in front of us. Dance and instruments improvise together to the artwork, and we cannot resist joining them. Szives and Klopfenstein create a unique experience with their duo of melodic percussion instruments and dance.
Márton Szives is frequently invited to stages across Europe for his contemporary music performances. A Pro Arte Gold Medal-winning performer who has brought audience-friendly instrumental performances to the stage with works dedicated to him by domestic and international composers, from children’s concerts to concert halls as House of Music Hungary and MüPa, featuring works dedicated to him by both domestic and international composers. Humor, virtuosity, and refined musicianship are simultaneously present in his marimba and vibraphone performances, elevating them into solo instruments. In 2024, he won first place at the BTHVN International Competition in Vienna and the Classical Music Stars competition in Gdansk.
Julien Klopfenstein is a French dance artist and choreographer who trained at the National Conservatoire of Music and Dance of Lyon, France, alongside training with Ballet Jazz Art director Raza Hammadi, who has also had a significant influence in Hungary.
In 2018, he joined the Budapest Dance Theatre company, performing internationally in works by renowned choreographers. Since 2020, he has pursued his career as an independent artist, collaborating with ensembles across Europe, including a notable participation in the 60th Venice Biennale.
His choreographic creations combine sensitivity, innovation, and style, earning growing acclaim on the contemporary dance scene.
