NeoQuartet – Black Angels/Czarne Anioły

Black Angels and other creatures with electronic string quartet

“We are passionate about art and contemporary music. We love to create, play concerts, think outside the box, challenge existing dogmas.”

The Gdańsk-based Polish NEOQuartet starts its presentation with this creed. The award-winning ensemble has already performed over 500 concerts almost in every corner of the world (21 countries) including prestigious concert halls of Carnegie Hall in New York and Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing. Now we can hear and see them for the first time in Hungary.

The main profile of the quartet is playing with electronics and/or video, and they even specifically strive to play their programs on electronic instruments. They arrive to the Transparent Sound New Music Festival with a program whose backbone is composed of pieces composed for them and their electronic string instruments. In addition to the presentation of Hungarian premieres of three Polish composers, G. Crumb’s Black Angels, a special and outstanding work of the 20th century quartet repertoire, will also be performed. On this occasion, however, we can also hear this work on electronic instruments, which the
Hungarian audience has not yet been able to hear in this way.
